Take a walk

3:22 PM

I took a walk in my husbands shoes this week, and surprise! I learned something. I wrote down all the arguments we had, and then tried to look at them from his perspective. At first it was a challenge, but as it went along I could slowly see his perspective leaking into my view of things. I was probably more harsh on my behavior then he would ever be, but it was still interesting non-the-less.

How many times do we act before we think, and later go over and over what we did in our minds? It is rarely pretty, even if we feel justified in some way. There is always a better way to act, and react.

It became apparent that all he needed from me was support. Support with the kids, with house work and each other. That is something that is so easy to give. Just a good job here and there instead of an eye role makes all the difference.

Henry B. Erying is always counselling husbands to "love their wives". Of course this counsel goes both ways. My husband, and I am sure yours, works so hard for his family. He does not do anything without thinking of us first. So one of the best things that I can do for him, is put him first. Even little things are so appreciated, even making dinner, or having a special treat laid out always makes my husbands day, and I am sure if I was a little more prepared and less stressed when going somewhere that would be appreciated too.
